Docol 500 high edge ductile steel is the next generation of hot-rolled high-strength low alloy steel with improved local formability, which results in greater edge ductility and better edge trimming quality. Developed specifically for the most demanding applications and manufacturing conditions in the automotive industry, Docol HE steel provides improved performance to those facing design and production challenges with traditional high-strength low alloy steel (HSLA) materials. Docol 500 high edge ductile steel is produced using a new and tightly controlled method with a very fine structure. It is an extremely pure steel that greatly improves local formability while still maintaining good overall formability. It is suitable for stamping most geometric shapes and excels in demanding applications where trimming quality affects forming feasibility. Lastly, the steel can well adapt to the requirements of mold adjustment and wear resistance, so it is suitable for precision blanking. Various chassis components, consoles, seats, as well as driveline parts, clutches are the common automotive parts suitable for Docol 500 high edge ductile steel.
