Flange Shafts

Flanged shafts are used for torque transmission in the powertrain. On the one hand, they serve as a full floating axle shaft for driven rigid axles in commercial vehicles and, on the other hand, as a connection between the differential gear and the constant-velocity shaft in passenger cars. Process combinations are usually used to produce the flanged shafts. Firstly, the flange is generated by means of extrusion, then the shaft is elongated by swaging and, at the same time, the diameter is reduced. In this way, long undercuts are possible that would otherwise have to be produced by machining. Flanged shaft is one of the important parts in the mechanical transmission which has critical mechanical performance and structure.Flange shaft usually used for the transmission,transfer case and connected to the drive shaft between the left and right front. Besides, Flange shaft is important in automotive driveline shaft parts, the main role is to support the drive components and pass power, exposed to alternating load in harsh working environments, also heat-treated , forging, grinding in the production process , and easy to cause a variety of defects in step. Currently, we use forging process for flange shaft, such as closed die forging, extrusion, etc., which can reduce energy consumption and improve forging surface and internal quality, so as to improve product quality, reduce product cost purposes.
